CONSIDER THEM GONE® MOUSE PEST CONTROL
Where there is one mouse, there are many mice. Mice are virtually harmless and more annoying than anything. The best way to eliminate mice is to trap them. There are two main types of traps. The old fashioned standard wood mouse trap that breaks their neck, and glue traps. Glue traps are considered inhumane because the mouse gets stuck in the trap and then basically starves to death. However, you don't have to see a mouse with his organs hanging out. Either route, don't be a sissy and be afraid to deal with this problem. Setting multiple traps behind couches, refrigerators, and especially in garages are the best places to catch these critters.
Mice are small mammals belonging to the rodent order. The most commonly known mouse species is the common house mouse. It is also a popular pet, for whatever reason. The American white-footed mouse and the deer mouse also sometimes seek refuge in houses. In other places, some kinds of field mice are also pevelant. The mouse is preyed upon by large birds (i.e. hawks and eagles), as well as snakes, and cats. They are known to infest residences for food and shelter. Mice are also preyed upon by smaller pests such as parasites like ticks.
Mice can live up to two and a half years in captivity, but the average wild mouse lives only about four-six months, most likely because of predators. Because of its uncanny adaptability to most any environment, and its ability to cohabitate with humans, the mouse is regarded to be the second most successful mammalian genus living on the planet Earth today. The first most successful would be you and I, or humans.
Mice can at times be a nuiscance and harmful by damaging and eating crops, causing structural damages (i.e. eating through electrical wires), and spreading diseases. Mice are primarily nocturnal animals who have very poor eyesight but a keen sense of hearing and sense of smell to locate food and avoid predators.
Pests, especially mice, can be easily dealt with without an exterminator.
Did you know a potential breast cancer treatment was found in mouse experiments?
Mice should not be confused with rats. Rattus norvegicus is the scientific name for a sewer rat. A rat is a rodent found in urban and suburban neighborhoods. Rats contaminate food and damage things by gnawing and burrowing. Rats spread diseases such as Rat-bite fever (RBF), Leptospirosis, Murine Typhus, and many more.
Infestations
Rats can be discovered by finding droppings or evidence of gnawing. You may even find foot prints on dirty surfaces. Rats that live in groups develop a hierarchy. The rat at the top of this hierarchy is the most dominant rat. This rat is called the alpha rat. The rat hierarchy has a chain of command. The alpha rat has a second in command. A new species of rat was discovered in Papua New Guinea.
These cute little rodents love to gnaw. They gnaw on everything. Mice are a fire hazard when it comes to living in your home. Mice living in walls, or attics are a disaster waiting to happen. These rodents love to chew electrical wires and not only that, they leave feces and urine inside the walls and attic. Even though they are small they breed fast and having dozens of mice chewing on your electrical wires can leave you with thousands of dollars in damage, or worse yet, your house burnt to the ground. You need to eliminate this problem quickly. Mice traps are the only way to get rid of them. Glue traps are inhumane and cause the mice to starve to death if they don't eat themselves alive first. A good old fashioned wooden mouse trap kills them instantly.
